In this topic we listed what emulators you could use to rip sprites: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=964
for the SNES you can download ZSNES and the utility called vSNES.

vSNES looks at the savestate you take from ZSNES and you can disable/enable the backgrounds and the sprites of the characters.
Since with ZSNES you can advance frame by frame, it's very easy to get the sprites.

Requesting for rips isn't very nice. It's allowed but you can't expect people to do work for you.* That's why I told you a way of getting the sprites for yourself, it saves you time (waiting someone to do a spritesheet is worse than actually trying to rip) and at the same time you learn how to rip and you can contribute to this community.
So, do you want to give it a shot? :)

* No, it's not allowed, now that I checked:

Also, one of the rules:
As stated in the first rule of the forum: do not register and immediately start making requests. Your intentions will be very transparent and no one will be interested in helping you.

You don't know how ZSNES works, is that correct?

First of all, download it from here: http://www.zsnes.com/
vSNES can be found here: http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/274/
then download the rom of the game. I can't link you to any sites, but it's pretty easy to find those. You should be searching for "spiderman the animated series rom snes".

After that, run the emulator and the rom (like you would do with any other emulator).

You're playing the game now, but when you need to pause the emulation to rip the sprites:
- with the esc button you can go to the main menu and save the game (preferably some time before the action you want to rip actually happens);
- you can also press F1 to open a window that lets you advance frame by frame, take the snapshots, or both at the same time; it also allows you to rip the musics (in the .spc extension).

You need a lot of savestates to rip sprites. vSNES needs these because you can use them to rip the sprites deleting what's unnecessary (background, other sprites you don't need, etc. ). It's user-friendly, so you shouldn't have any trouble using that, but if you find some problems tell me.

Are you only using ZSNES? Or are you also using vSNES together with the emulator?

You know that with ZSNES you can disable the background colours. But you can't decide the background colour (if you remove the BG you usually get black).
But with vSNES you can rip the sprites with a different BG color.

Ripping with vSNES

First of all, perform the action you want to rip and if possible stop the game emulation/pause the game:
Image

then save the state:
Image

after that open vSNES and load the savestate:
Image
when you do it, press this button in the uppest bar:
Image
and you will get this window:
Image
you can change what is showing by pressing "layers" (it's near the word "screen")
Image
and you can change the colour of the background (look in the far right, at the bottom).

If the enemy is on the way, in the middle column it's possible to take out the parts of the enemy sprites. Just experiment with it. :)

When you're done, save the image (it's under the "transparency" options). Do this for every sprite, arrange them in a spritesheet and voilà, you ripped sprites from a game!

That tutorial is for the Sega Genesis emulator.
Also I can't understand what you want.

There is no 'ctrl + something' to do that. If you followed the tutorial you would understand... or maybe you can't understand English.

Anyway,

Console = Sega Genesis. Not SNES.
Emulator = GensKMod. Download it here: http://retrogamezone.co.uk/tutorialvideos.htm

How to rip from Sega Genesis games:

First method
- Run the game;
- Pause the game with Esc; advance frame by frame (Frame step) with Shift + Esc;
- When you want to rip:
Image
go to CPU, Debug, Layers;
- when you press Layers:
Image
you get this window.
- Disable the layers you don't want and enable the "Colour Key" (magenta BG colour).
Image
You can now get the rips the way you want.

Second method (copied from one of my posts in other forums)
- When you want to rip something stop the game (with the Esc button on your keyboard);
Image

- usually you can rip sprites with screenshots (nothing wrong with that) but sometimes it becomes really difficult to get the sprites, like in this case; so now we go to the CPU menu, then Debug, Genesis, VDP - sprites:
Image
- when you click it, a window will appear:
Image
- do not dump the images with the dump button! Instead use the Print button on your keyboard (of course you'll have to paste it in an image editing program like Paint) and use the smaller image in the window (pixel perfect). The one in the left under the word "Priority", if it wasn't clear.

Also remember that you're not going to get the sprite, but pieces of the sprite in that frame that you have to put together.

Another thing to keep in mind: the pieces have a slightly different palette (they may look the same as your rips when you get them from screenshots but they're not).

Third method (written by Enscripture in Mugen Fighter's Guild)
Look up GSavestate. Pause the game when it's at the frame you want, make a savestate with Genecyst and load it in GSavestate. You can get the full frames with this, and backgrounds and other stuff.

:what:

Are you asking how to rip sprites from the Nintendo DS?
If yes, go here: http://spritedatabase.net/tutorial_ds.php (Grim wrote this tutorial)

... You are not going to ask how to rip sprites from other emulators, are you? :brow:
