I want to submit! What do I have to do? |
- Go to the forums
and register an account.
- Go to the Submit
board.
- Make a topic like "My rips" and include links to your
submission, as well as relevant information.
- That's it! If it's good it'll be put it up on the site as soon
as possible. Isn't life great?
|
But what can I submit? |
- Sprites
- Backgrounds
- Sounds
- Custom or Edited sprites
- Tutorials
|
Any rules? |
-
Nothing stolen. Submissions
must be your own work. If you're submitting rips, they must be
rips you ripped yourself. Likewise, Customs, Edits, and Tutorial
submissions must be your own work. Finally, don't pose as someone
and submit their work. It sounds absurd but it's happened and
it caused some problems.
-
Submit through the forums. In other
words, don't send submissions by email. Submitting through the
forums helps improve quality control and also ensures that stolen
stuff doesn't get through.
-
Submissions must be at the proper resolution. Wondering
what this means? It means that any graphical submissions must
be at the original resolution they were ripped from. Here's
an example of this. The sprite on the left is small and
pixellated; the ones on the right are resized and distorted.
-
Use proper file formats.
- Sprites should be .gif or .png
images. PNG is generally the best image format you can
use, and even MSPaint can make them.
- Backgrounds should also be .gif
or .png images. If a submission includes several gif
or png files, you may put them in a .zip or .rar
archive if you wish. Another option is to simply place several
BG's on one sheet.
- Sounds should be in a common format such
as .wav or .mp3, but other formats such as
.wma will usually be taken. If Winamp
doesn't play it, it's no good. As with BG's, you may want to
use a .zip or .rar archive.
-
Aim for completion. If you try to
submit a sheet with 20% of a character's frames, it'll be a problem.
If you manage to get 90%, you'll probably be ok.
-
Label your submission. This one is
easy. When you submit something, just mention what it is, what
game it's from, and what system. The more accurate you are, the
better.
